Horrible DO NOT Purchase

Does not dry. Takes 2 hrs for a small load. This is the worst machine on the planet. Buy anything but maytag! The worst! A family of 4 takes allllll weekend to do our clothes and have to space it out - just horrible.

Very Disappointed With My New Maytag Dryer
Johnso2tl
9/3/2026
I am extremely disappointed with my new Maytag dryer. My frustration is not with where I purchased it, but with the quality and performance of the Maytag product itself.
I have to run the dryer at least three times before my clothes are completely dry. Having to restart a brand-new dryer multiple times just to get a normal load of clothes dry is extremely frustrating and is not the performance I expected from Maytag.
Another issue is the amount of lint that collects around the dryer door when I open it. Lint gathers around the door area and in the crevices, which is not something I experienced with my previous dryer. It makes the appliance feel poorly designed and adds another inconvenience to using it.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I was told by the Lowe™™s sales representative that Maytag and Whirlpool are made by the same company and that this Maytag dryer would be comparable to my previous Whirlpool. I trusted that information when making my purchase.
My previous Whirlpool dryer lasted 13 years and only began having problems in 2026, which is why I finally decided it was time to replace it. After having such a long-lasting and reliable experience with Whirlpool, I expected the Maytag brand to provide comparable quality and performance.
Unfortunately, this new Maytag dryer has been a major disappointment. For a brand-new appliance, I should not have to run my clothes through three drying cycles, and I should not be dealing with excessive lint collecting around the dryer door.
I purchased this product expecting the quality and reliability associated with the Maytag name, but based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend this dryer. I sincerely hope Maytag takes these concerns seriously and addresses the quality issues with this product.

This is a very dependable and good basic dryer. It has a great capacity size and the heat capability is great. Great dryer for everyday needs...however...I am having a tremendous amount of trouble with wrinkling and things such as sheets and larger items betting bundled up. You constantly have to keep an eye on it. The machine is consistently durable with just a few minor issues.

I only have the appliance for a short time but so far it is working well. I like the temperature selection feature and also the wrinkle prevent cycle. The only thing I would recommend is for the manufacturer to put the lint catcher in a different location.

We've had other Maytag dryers in the past but there are several items on this model that I find inferior. The top is slanted now so if you have a laundry basket or clothes that should not be dried on top while it's running they will end up on the floor. I don't like the new notification that it continues to fluff and alert for many attempts after it goes off. I understand more than once but it becomes excessive. Lastly, the drum is already becoming discolored blue, but that has happened on our two prior models and appears to only be cosmetic. The dryer does have a large capacity and so far seems to have dried most of our loads in one cycle. I also feel that the lint trap has been upgraded and I see it as an improvement.

Absolutely love this dryer. Just simple, not complicated, easy to understand dials and functions. Does exactly what I expected. Amazing how quickly and efficiently it drys anything I put into it. The drum is large enough for a Queen comforter so it moves it a lot to dry the entire comforter. I like the wrinkle prevent option and it works flawlessly. Very happy with this purchase!

Unhappy customer!!!
8/26/2026
This model was not available to look at or touch at my appliance store, so there are some things about it that I didn't know about. I probably would not have chosen this model if I had known these things. Firstly, I have been using dryers for decades and never came across this until now. The dryer has a slight slope down from the control panel to the front. I take out the dried item, fold it on the dryer and then move it to the washer so it's sorted before I put it in the basket to put away. The slope makes it so that anything I place on it slides off. This is inconvenient and undesirable. I looked up why it is sloped; it is to keep people from putting heavy items on it repeatedly. So make the top more sturdy rather than disadvantaging the customer/user. I have ordered a clear rubber adhesive strip to put on it to hopefully help.
Secondly, the dryer is very low, basically floor level. I am relatively tall and don't like having to reach almost to the floor to pull out the clothes. Inconvenient and not ergonomically friendly.
The good news? It's not super loud, it holds large loads and dries the clothes.

We bought a basic dryer without fancy upgrades. We had a smaller space so it fit the space best. It does what it™™s supposed to. It has a buzzer and also wrinkle prevention. I figure the more features you have the more can break down.

This dryer was very cheaply make. Faisal y advertised by Lowes as a stainless steel drum. Nope painted steel white. Called and complained and got no resolution by Lowes. Said they would call e to switch the dry and no call back. Lowes is a joke and so is this dryer. The setting knob is so cheaply made. It is clear it will break off very soon. Don™™t waste your money on this item and don™™t buy appliances from Lowes. I purchase a kitchen package along with these and two of those items arrived damaged. So did the matching washer.

I researched several brands and Maytag kept checking all my boxes. Even when the hubby wanted a different brand, I stood my ground with Maytag, and his ™it™™s up to you™ comment as if to say you™™re picking the wrong brand. Maytag has been around a long time, I didn™™t want all the fancy buttons, I just wanted the reliable start/stop, heat cycle knobs. The first load only took 40 minutes - a full load of 4 bath towels. . I was happy, happy! My clothes are not as wrinkled from having to dry for 75 minutes on high, now I use medium heat. And my clothes don™™t get bunched up, the size of the drum is bigger than my other & accommodates my big comforters with ease. I can™™t wait for my other brand washer to get on my nerves enough to get the Maytag washer.

This is a wonderful Appliance. The Dryer works like a charm. It is quiet and efficient. The only downside with it is the top is not flat so beware if you put a drink on it as you™™re leaving the house. My washer dryer is between the kitchen and the garage so I™™m always using the top of the washer and dryer so I can open the door. Lesson learned.

We went backwards by way of technology. Sick and tired of modern touch button, fancy everything. We bought the most bare bones basic dryer and we love it. A few months later, we got rid of the fancy front loader washer and got a basic Speed Queen. No more buying machines every 6-7 years (hopefully). Sick and tired of an industry that is purposely building machines DESIGNED to crap out after 4-5 years. Why? Frequent repeat business (and steady $$$ for them). Nope, not playing that game anymore.

I have always felt Maytag was top of the line. After purchasing the washer and dryer in March 2026 I have found multiple issues with both the washer and dryer. The dryer takes 2 times longer than my old dryer. The 20 minute cool down is entirely too long and wastes significant energy. Since purchasing these appliances my electricity bill has increased. I never expected the dryer to twist my clothes so badly. I have never experienced a dryer that kept my clothes from drying evenly. i also have to spend time unraveling my clothing. The dryer is louder and clunky. There is nothing I like about the dryer. I wish I had kept the old one while trying the Maytag out. There is no wrinkle prevention.

We like the fact that there aren't any digital displays or (hopefully) no computer controls, just dials and a push button. Lights, bells and fancy displays are a recipe for disaster. My son doesn't particularly care for the lint trap placement.

I absolutely love my new Maytag dryer. My other dryer was 27 years old and much smaller, so this one is a dream. The two gentlemen who delivered it were absolutely the best. Very helpful and courteous. I also loved the fact that Maytag did not charge for delivery or haul off. When my washing machine goes out, I will purchase a Maytag washer from Maytag.
